As a current highschooler I have attended a plethora of high school medical exposure programs. Sisters With A Stethoscope already posted a list of ten medical programs middle schoolers could apply for and possibly attend. My best advice when it comes to high school medical programs is to first look around at your community. Are there any medical schools or universities near you? Do you have a local hospital? Many of these institutions and places of care have programs in place that aid in helping highschoolers gain exposure into different medical professions. Whether it's being a physician assistant, nurse, or physician there is usually an option to gain more insight. I highly recommend attending a medical exposure program if you're interested in being on the pre-med track in college. Not to mention it looks great on college applications. If you're still stumped and can't find any medical programs near you take a look at the list below. All of these programs are free of charge however you might not be able to attend because of location or even eligibility. Some of these programs also offer a stipend which is a paycheck you will receive from the program for participating!
